“Breaking: The People’s Republic of China has donated to the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) $10 million (UGX 36 billion) worth of military aid and equipment. The gesture by the Chinese government further strengthens and deepens bilateral military cooperation between the two countries. Thank you China!” Magezi posted.

While specifics of the aid package were not immediately disclosed, the contribution is seen as a continuation of long-standing military collaboration between Uganda and China, which includes training, logistics support, infrastructure development, and equipment supply.

The donation is expected to enhance the UPDF’s operational capacity, particularly in peacekeeping and counter-terrorism operations both within Uganda and across the region.

Ugandan military officials have consistently hailed China as a strategic defence partner, and this latest gesture reaffirms Beijing’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s security and stability efforts.
