Damulira joined the army in 1995 as an Officer Cadet at the School of Infantry in Jinja, where he was part of Section II, Platoon III, A Company. Since then, he has risen through the ranks, serving in key roles across Uganda’s security and intelligence services.
In a message shared today, Maj Gen Damulira thanked President Yoweri Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, and the Chief of Defence Forces for the promotion.
“I am deeply honored to express my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, and the Chief of Defence Forces/SPA-SO, for elevating me to the rank of Major General,” he said.
He pledged to continue serving Uganda with dedication and to uphold peace and security. He also appreciated the Uganda Police Force, Prisons Service, and Intelligence Services for their support and cooperation.
Damulira further thanked all Ugandans—from the public and private sectors to ghetto youth—for their role in maintaining peace. “May God bless Uganda and all its people,” he said.
His promotion comes as the country continues to strengthen its security institutions and reward long-serving officers.
