The intensive eight-week course focused on enhancing political consciousness, patriotism, discipline, and unity among the troops all crucial elements of the UPDF’s operational philosophy.
Maj Gen Muhanguzi underscored the importance of ideological grounding in shaping a professional and people-centred army. “The strength of the UPDF lies not only in its combat ability but also in its ideological commitment to the nation. Discipline and close ties with civilians come from strong political awareness,” he said.
He urged the newly trained soldiers to carry forward the UPDF’s guiding principles in their service and remain exemplary ambassadors of the Force.
Among those honoured for exceptional performance were Sgt Ngobi Gerald, WO1 Mutembuzi Erasto, and Pte Achom Sarah Lydia. They received certificates and awards in recognition of their excellence during the course.
