51 Victims Rescued from Human Trafficking Ring in Nagalama

An operation by the territorial police at Nagalama has led to the rescue of 51 people from a human trafficking ring. The victims were allegedly lured by false job promises from AIM GLOBAL ALLIANCE, a networking company operating in the Naggalama division.

According to police reports, the victims were conned into paying UGX 150,000 for job training, only to be exploited further. The traffickers would confiscate their phones and use them to recruit more victims, including friends and relatives, who were then coerced into paying UGX 1,500,000 to purchase products for resale.

The police operation, which took place on April 2, 2025, targeted several locations in Kalagi, including Kakola village, Kyabakadde parish, and Bbosa village. The victims, comprising males and females, were found cramped in small rooms, with some as young as 11 years old.

Two suspects, Kasule Zephaniah and Nantima Evelyn, have been arrested and detained at Nagalama Police Station in connection with the human trafficking ring.

The rescue operation is a significant blow to human trafficking networks operating in the region. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may be linked to human trafficking.
