51 persons have been awarded medals of honor in recognition of their contribution towards the liberation struggle at the 43rd Terehe Sita
The categories included the honorary medal, the Nalubale Medal, the Luwero triangle medal, and the National Independence Diamond Jubilee medal among others
The Terehe Sita Usually celebrated on February 6th commemorates the day in 1981, when the National Resistance movement led by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni waged an armed rebellion against the Obote government
Guests started arriving as early as 8 am including the central Busoga Diocesan Bishop Patrick Wakula, other religious leaders included Mufti of Uganda Shiek Ramathan Mubajje.
UPDF bigwigs who joined the forces in the early days of the NRA war were among the VIP guests who graced the occasion at Busesa.
These included the former inspector general of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura, Gen Jim Muhwezi, and Gen Katumba Wamala among others.
