Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has secured a new leadership role at the grassroots level after being elected unopposed as Chairperson of the Women’s League in Kapopong Village, Kolir Sub-county, Bukedea District.
The NRM village elections, currently taking place across Uganda, aim to fill 31 positions in each village. These structures play a key role in mobilizing political support and helping deliver government services to local communities. In Bukedea, party officials praised the peaceful conduct of the vote and said residents were free to choose their leaders without interference.
