Muhoozi- “You Are Next, Remember The Arua Incident”

The Chief of defense forces and the son of the president Muhoozi Kainerugaba has ignited fresh fears of political violence after he openly threatened opposition leader and National Unity Platform principal Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine reminding him of the deadly 2018 Arua incident where Bobi Wine’s driver Yassin Kawuma was shot dead.

‎The threat comes amid growing unrest over the alleged illegal detention and torture of Eddie Mutwe, Bobi Wine’s civilian bodyguard , which opposition group’s claim is part of a broader campaign of intimidation by the Museveni regime.

‎In one of the now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter), Muhoozi directly addressed Robert Kyagulanyi, Muhoozi said ‎“You are next Kabobi! Remember Arua? How you were crying for Barbie to save you? This time I will have your balls…”

‎The reference to Arua incident brings fresh memories to the 2018 by-election violence, where security forces brutally suppressed opposition protests, leading to the death of Bobi Wine’s driver, Yasin Kawuma, and the arrest and alleged torture of Bobi wine and several MPs. ‎
‎Muhoozi’s latest remarks suggest an escalation in rhetoric, raising concerns that Uganda’s security apparatus may be preparing for another violent crackdown ahead of potential political confrontations.

Opposition figures allege that Muhoozi, who commands Uganda’s elite Special Forces Command (SFC), has been directly involved in suppressing dissent.
